Songwriting with Kim Beggs

This songwriting class will include singing as a class, fun writing exercises, melody exploration, rhyme and almost rhymes, along with rhythm, and of course putting it all together to create a song. Students will co-write with the whole class.
In a second class, we will explore writing tools such as the thesaurus, dictionary, computer laptop, paper and pen, explore recording technology such as Garage Band, iPhone etc. We will be working on building trust and respect for their own and each other’s writing.
I am also available if students wish to have one-on-one time with their individual songs and writing.
In a third class we can explore the Music Biz. What happens after the song is finished being written and composed? What are the options for recording the song? Is there interest to record professionally? Or recording a whole cd? Is there interest in selling the song on iTunes for example? How do you go about doing that?
