Intro to Silversmithing with Shelley MacDonald

Working with both copper and sterling silver, this course, which is ideal for beginners, will enable you to design and create your own unique piece of jewellery in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.

6-8 hours, perhaps 2 days

Material Required:

Artist will supply all materials and equipment for a rental fee.

Shelley MacDonald

Shelley MacDonald earned her B.F.A in Jewellery Design and metalsmithing from NSCAD University in Halifax N.S in 2011. Since moving to the Yukon, Shelley draws and incorporates her inspiration from the northern beauty of her visual environment, which emulates through her more recent collections.
From a small studio in Whitehorse, Shelley uses a variety of materials including upcycled leather and fur from the Yukon, metals, stones, ivory, musk ox horn and wood. All of her items are handmade and one of kind. Shelley has been traveling to various countries volunteer teaching her silversmithing skills to help people sustain themselves and to make money to provide for there families. Her next adventure will be Bali, Indonesia and New Zealand.
