Deanna Bailey

Artist Work Sample Unavailable

Deanna (Dee) Bailey completed fine art and biology studies in Alberta. She moved to the Yukon in 2010 for a guiding job, seven years later she has no plans to leave. Deanna’s strong love of nature, wildlife and the outdoors is often the subject matter of her art. One of her main goals is to place nature in the forefront to encourage people to consider their choices regarding the health of our environment.
Interested in pushing the boundaries of two dimensional art and attempting to make paintings more sculptural, she has been exploring painting with modelling clay. In the fall of 2015 Deanna attended an artist’s residency in Vallauris, France at a clay facility. In 2017 Deanna was selected to participate in the Canada C3 voyage as the artist on board a research ice breaker vessel.
Deanna is a member of the Yukon Artists at Work Co-operative (YA@W). Her art can be found at the YA@W Gallery, at Arts Underground and online.
