Cécile Girard

Cécile Girard has lived in the Yukon since 1981. She has a BA in Graphic Design from l’Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM) and practices her art in a wide array of mediums. Whether with words, painting, papier mâché or embroidery, any way is a good way to express her vision. Over the years Cécile has taught a variety of workshops (drawing, papier mâché, painting,  sewing garments, etc.) through various venues and for different occasions. She enjoys working with kids very much.
In 2009, Cécile presented a solo painting exhibition at Arts Underground. In 2011, she participated in the Great Northern Arts Festival in Inuvik. In 2013, she was one of the artists hired by the Yukon Conservation Society to work on the project, Painting Miles Canyon. Her doll titled Old Trapper is the grand-prize winner in the Arts, North of Ordinary 2015 contest.
